VFD Information

General Product Information for standard Mitsubishi VFDs can be found on the manufacturer website. Additional options and choices are available. If you need further information such as a detailed sequence of operation please contact sales@titan-air.com.

A VFD allows for the varying of motor speed in a variable air volume unit, such as a Titan Air Demand Air unit. A VFD is also used to provide "soft starting" when a motor begins to operate. Without a VFD, a motor draws a large amount of current when switched on. This can cause circuits to overload, and adds stress to the components of the motor. By eliminating this high in-rush of current, a VFD extends the life of a motor, and can also reduce electrical utility costs.
